Jane’s family appeal for info on her killer

The family of Jane Smith, the eleven year old girl who was killed after saving her brother in a hit and run, have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

In a press conference today their representative had the following to say:

“Mr and Mrs Smith are devastated by the loss of their little girl and are only comforted by her heroic actions in saving her little brother, Jack.

They urge the driver who cowardly left the scene to face up to their actions and hand themselves in to the police. They also ask that anyone who might know the identity of the individual to come forward and help the police in their ongoing investigation.

They would like to thank the public for their support but would ask that they be allowed to mourn in peace at a private funeral for Jane.”

Police have yet to make any arrests in the hit and run that occurred near Albert Park last month though their investigation continues.
