There was only one goal in Porthampton’s first away win since the beginning of February but it stands to be a contender for goal of the season.

Jackson’s strike, a long range volley that dipped just below the crossbar, had the Porthampton fans and even Adam Bain out of his seat.

“I had a good feeling about that one. The moment it came off my foot I knew it was going in.” said the Porthampton striker after the match.

He was quick to praise the rest of the team, saying “It was a real team effort today, I know we’ve had a bit of a rough patch recently but it was a beautiful pass, and the guys at the back did good work to keep them from pulling back. Hopefully this is the first of many.”

“It would be good to get the personal award but at the end of the day it’s about the team doing well.”
