The Porthampton Bugle

If it's not in The Bugle – It's not happening!

£20,000 of Cocaine found within drug dealer’s wall.

In a raid following on from last week’s sting on 8 properties in Porthampton, a large haul of illegal drugs were seized from an address in Victoria Close.

Police searched 4 Victoria Close and uncovered nothing until the arrival of a trained police drugs dog revealed the illegal store within the wall of the property.

Member of the police drugs squad and sniffer dog handler Phillip Long said “We were called in after the rest of the team failed to uncover anything in the property and suspected that the owner had stashed the drugs somewhere nearby. We certainly didn’t expect that they would have gone to the extent of hiding them with a wall.

Harvey [the department’s drug detection dog] was determined though, after searching the downstairs of the address we hadn’t found anything but getting upstairs Harvey was really excited and would not move away from one wall. We investigated further and found a cleverly concealed store. Harvey has done us all proud.”

The owner, Frank Greene (34), was arrested and is currently being interviewed in relation to the seized drugs. When asked, Mr Greene’s representative said that he was cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation.
