Porthampton have now made it three wins in a row at home with a 1-0 victory over The Dragons at Dockland Road.

The first half saw Middleton St George take the offensive, keeping the pressure on the Porthampton defence. The majority of attacks coming from crosses into the box where Lacey and Masters were waiting. On the one or two occasions that White and Franks couldn’t shut them out in the middle, Gibson closed off any opportunities with a series of phenomenal saves.

The second half followed much the same story until a counter attack up the right wing saw Harris one on one with the Dragons’ keeper. A deft touch put the ball over the oncoming goalie and into the top of the net, bagging The Fleet the only goal of the game.

“They really put the pressure on us, they could as easily have come away with the win as we did.” commented Franks. “We just held tight and performed better on the day”
